The parade is tomorrow but today is the big day for the famous floats.
KCAL 9’s Lesley Marin went to Irwindale where the floats are on display to be judged.
From the dances of Polynesia to a trampoline on top of a replica Carnival Cruise Line ship. You even have Kool & The Gang singing Celebration on another float.
All 40+ parade floats were finally completed just before 9 a.m. Monday morning.
Nothing you see is artificial it’s all real plants and organic material.
But this couldn’t have been possible without the hundreds of volunteers…who worked several overnight shifts to make each float come to life.
They helped place thousands of flowers…exactly where they needed to be.
We have flowers from 100 different countries representing 100 countries where our team members come from.
Behind every float is a meaning.
This years theme for the Rose Parade is the Melody of Life.
Over at Donate Life’s float., they have photos of donors who helped save lives like Paulina Guevara’s.
With the floats now fully completed…it was time to judge.
The best floats will be honored…but the biggest honor will come tomorrow…when they get to show off all their hard work.
Make sure you get ready to dance and pay attention to the surprises. A few floats have fireworks!
The Rose Parade will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
