Community members have proposed a new dog park in Philipsburg.
The park’s proposed sight is at the intersection of East Pine Street and 322 or what locals know as Railroad Street.
The park has already been approved by Philipsburg Borough Council, but now it needs funding. Something that will be discussed at the Borough Council meeting tonight.
Local dog owner, Elliot Lauder, developed the idea for the park, and doesn’t see any downside to its creation.
“It’s not being used, its being maintained, but its not being used and I think its a great way to make Philipsburg a better place,” said Lauder. “It’s going to make it more dog friendly and better for people to come here and live.”
Members of Rush Township will also be present at the meeting tonight discussing funding for the dog park, as the property runs adjacent to Rush Township.
