A new Lyme Disease Support Group kicks off with a free documentary screening of Under Our Skin.

Under our Skin takes a look at the day-to-day struggles that people living with Lyme Disease face. This film examines the unrecognized Lyme Disease epidemic, which is a serious bacterial infection spread by ticks.

There will be a free screening of the documentary on Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 pm at St. Rose of Lima Bingo Hall in Altoona, presented by the Altoona Area Lyme Disease Support Group. The Altoona Area Lyme Disease Support Group is set to launch in September. The mission of the group is to educate the public about Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases, and to support those suffering from tick-borne illnesses.
