Symptoms of a Concussion
- Thinking/Remembering Problems
- Physical illness such as headaches or vomiting (early on)
- Emotional or mood problems such as irritability, sadness, overly emotional
- Sleeping more or less than usual, trouble falling asleep
Preventing Concussions
- Wear protective gear during sports and other outdoor activities
- Buckle your seatbelt
- Make your home safe by removing rugs or other tripping hazards
- Protect your child by blocking off stairways and installing window guards
- Exercise regularly to strengthen leg muscles and to improve balance
