Dave Kuiawa from Fine Wine & Good Spirits shares some cocktails perfect for National Bourbon Month!

Gold Rush

·         2 oz. Old Forester Bourbon

·         ¾ oz. fresh lemon juice

·         ¾ oz. honey

 

Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.

 

Dancing with the Devil

·         2 oz. Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Bourbon

·         1 oz. triple sec

·         1 oz. sweet and sour mix

·         1 oz. passion fruit juice

·         2 dashes hot sauce

·         1 maraschino cherry

 

Combine first five ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with maraschino cherry.

 

Cavalry Salute Cocktail

·         1 ½ oz. Cavalry Bourbon

·         1 strawberry, stem removed

·         ½ oz. fresh lemon juice

·         1 oz. maple syrup

·         2 dashes orange bitters

·         2 oz. ginger beer

·         1 each, lemon slice and strawberry

 

Muddle lemon juice and strawberry in the bottom of a shaker. Add bourbon, maple syrup and bitters. Shake and strain into Collins glass over fresh ice. Top with ginger beer; stir gently. Garnish with lemon slice and strawberry.
