Help support families in need this weekend in Huntingdon County at CHAMP-a-Thon!

CHAMP stands for Creating Hope and Making Progress, and aims to help families in need and unite the communities of Juniata Valley, Huntingdon, Southern Huntingdon, and Mount Union. CHAMP also receives the support and participation of Juniata College and Planet LoveJoy. CHAMP is the largest philanthropic group in the county as they work to raise money for children and families in need. The program is operated by Huntingdon county students, and advisors from Planet LoveJoy.

CHAMP’s biggest fundraising event is the CHAMP-a-Thon, a twelve hour dance marathon. Senior high students from four local Huntingdon county schools and Juniata College will raise money and dance for a cause. In addition to dancing, there will be games such as Musical Chairs, Ships and Sailors, Dodge Ball and more! This year’s goal is to raise $60,000 and have 600 students participate.

CHAMP-a-Thon is scheduled for Friday, February 24 from 7:00 pm until 7:00 am at Mount Union High School in Mount Union. All proceeds benefit CHAMP. Visit CHAMP on Facebook to learn more about the charity. Check out Planet LoveJoy online or Facebook to learn more about their organization.
