The first public garden of its kind in Blair County, Discovery Garden is dedicated to the memory of Courtney Leigh Clayton of Hollidaysburg. The garden carries her enduring memory by providing an accessible garden where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the beauty of nature. Check out the Discovery Garden online for more information.
The Skills Horticultural Therapy Program works to promote community inclusion, provide educational and outdoor opportunities, and promote intergenerational activities. Participants complete a series of classes about trees, flowers, and herbs. They experience hands-on experiments, visit greenhouses, plant seeds, transplant seedlings and more! The classes are typically 60 to 90 minutes long depending on the needs and schedules for the participant. For more information on the Skills Horticultural Therapy Program, contact Skills Cortland Office Program Manager at (814) 944-4519.
