Get moving! Today is National Walking Day!

Americans need more physical activity, and walking can do just that to help maintain a healthy weight and stave off health issues that can come with a sedentary lifestyle.

National Walking Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday in April. The American Heart Assocation Sponsors the day to remind people about the health benefits of walking.

The Surgeon General recommends adults engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week, and children and teenagers should engage in at leat one hour of activity each day.
