PATTON TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Kids in our local communities can soon learn about firefighters, police officers, and EMS employees with hands-on experience.

It’s part of the Patton Township Children’s Safety Fair, being held in the Target/Wegmans parking lot on May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Various departments will allow kids to sit in their cars, ride or climb on their equipment to better understand what the officers do on a daily basis. There will also be demonstrations throughout the day and kids can climb into the STAT MedEvac air ambulance helicopter pilot’s seat and lie on the gurney in the cargo area as if they are being flown to a hospital.

And it’s not just for kids, parents can have their children fingerprinted and get a free car seat check.

Admission to the fair is free.
