WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — Officials say a company’s plans to open a call/contact center will mean hundreds of jobs coming to northeastern Pennsylvania.
Ubiquity Global Services, a New York-based customer service outsourcing company, says a 300-seat contact center will open in May in Hanover Industrial Estates in Luzerne County.
Company president and chief executive officer Matt Nyren said the firm hopes to create 300 to 400 jobs by the end of 2020. He said Wilkes-Barre was “an easy choice” given local talent, proximity to the firm’s New York headquarters and support from state and local economic groups.
Most jobs will be filled locally and will include contact center positions — which involve calling people and contacting them by digital means — as well as positions in fraud detection, software development and handling regulatory elements.
