Following the suicide of a 12-year-old student, the Altoona Area School District is bringing in additional counselors for anyone that is grieving.

Some on social media are saying the district is not doing enough to stop bullying. However, there is no evidence to support these claims.

Superintendent Dr. Charles Prijatelj says this is a tragedy and has impacted a lot of people.

“We respect the communities need to search for answers as to why,” Prijatelj says.

The district is “fully” cooperating with the Altoona Police Department in their investigation into the circumstances.
