Penn State President Eric Barron has selected members for the Greek Life Response Team Advisory Group.

It will generate advice as the Greek Life Response Team looks at new safety initiatives to bring an end to alcohol abuse, hazing and sexual assault on campus.

So far President Barron said the plan is to implement major change which includes, social gathering restrictions, a formal recruitment process, and significant consequences if there are any violations.

These changes come after the tragic death of Timothy Piazza, who died in February during rush night at Beta Theta Pi.

The University received backlash from some who say opinions from the student body weren’t taken into consideration for new changes the Greek system.

PSU said the Greek Life Team Advisory Group is intentionally designed to be very diverse.

It includes student representatives, members of the board of trustees as well as members from both sororities and fraternities.

WTAJ reached out to speak with some of the new members to find out what their goal is on the board, and what changes they hope to see.

But the University said they will not be available until they’ve had a chance to adapt to their new positions.
