A historical landmark has been restored today thanks to the help of some volunteers.
Bilger’s rocks in Clearfield County were recently vandalized with graffiti. Local volunteers power-washed the rocks with a safe chemical this morning.
The 300-million-year-old rocks bring tourists of all ages to the area, and organizers want to keep it that way.
“The people don’t seem to realize that, or maybe they don’t seem to care that, children come back in here,” said Bill Ammermam, a member of the Bilger’s Rocks Association.
Organizers said the spray was effective in removing the obscene material from the rocks.
