A 16 year old Amish teenager died on June 26, over a week after she was injured in a fire.
On June 17, the victim was pouring gas into a motor that ran her family home’s washing machine when she spilled the gas onto the motor causing a fire. She suffered severe burns to her body and was flown to UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh where she succumbed to her injuries nine days later.
The incident took place along Buck Run Road in McClamont Township.
The cause of death was ruled accidental and has been determined to be septic shock due to multiple wound infections.
