The Greater Johnstown School District is implementing new school bus checks after a 5-year old student was put on the wrong bus and found crying by a mailman.
There will now be two checks of students getting on buses at the end of the day, one by teachers, and another by bus drivers.
“Moving forward we have a plan in place. We’re going to execute that plan and we look forward to this not happening again,” said Greater Johnstown School District Superintendent, Michael Vuckovich.
School officials are also urging parents to update their home addresses and inform teachers ahead of time if there are any transportation changes for students.
