A local nonprofit organization is hoping to brighten the spirits of children effected by hurricane Harvey.
On September 22, the Because We Care foundation of Altoona will be sending personalized teddy bears down to children in Houston who lost everything in the wake of the monster storm.
Volunteers will be meeting with Houston police to hand out bears to kids.
“These kids have lost absolutely everything, so any chance anyone can get to make at least a little impact in their life, at a time when they’re going through so much,” said Jessica Digennaro, the president and founder of the foundation. “Just give them a smile, it’s worth it all.

They also hope to bring bears to children effected by Hurricane Irma in Florida.
