The first annual Pumpkin Fest was held at the historic Royer Mansion in Williamsburg.
People were able to check out a quilt show, look at antiques and vendors, enjoy a bite to eat, even bring home pumpkins and seasonal decorations.
The whole idea for the event is to raise awareness about local historical sites.
“It’s events like this that really bring communities together and above all else it’s what allows us to reflect upon where we come from,” Jared Frederick, from the Blair County Historical Society, said. “We need to do that in order to get an understanding about where we’re going.”
The Royer mansion was built in the 1800s. Money raised at events like these help preserve the building so it’s accessible to the public.
