In a 7-3 vote, the Punxsutawney School Board has decided to move forward with a reconfiguration plan for the district.
Under this plan, all 6 elementary schools in the district will move into one building.
The current middle school will house kindergarten through 6th grade. While the high school will hold 7th through 12th grades.
To accommodate the students, an $8.5 million construction project will begin to the two buildings in December.
The changes will take place for all students in fall of 2018.
