The fire that destroyed a home in Johnstown overnight has been ruled arson.

That blaze broke out along the 200 block of Bond Street in the Moxham neighborhood around 1:30 Friday morning.

Fire officials say a taxi driver spotted the fire and honked to alert several people inside the duplex. Everyone got out safely.

Officials say that the flames spread throughout the home, and caused the second floor to collapse into the first floor.

The home will have to be torn down.

“The stability is in question obviously because of the severity of the fire,” said Johnstown Fire Chief Anthony Kovacic.

No injuries have been reported.

Police are still investigating who is responsible for starting the fire.
