Forest Hills Rangers fans are gearing up for Saturday’s big 2017 PIAA Football Championship quarterfinals game.

The high school’s varsity football team will compete against Sharon High School in the playoff game.

The team has yet to win the state championship title.

The captain, Jon Long, said this game is exciting and bittersweet for the 12 seniors on the team this year.

“It’s kind of bizarre. I don’t know if we saw ourselves making it this far at the beginning of the year. We definitely put in a lot of work in the off-season and going for three, five and six seasons, it’s definitely special to be here,” Long said.

Last week, the Forest Hills football program celebrated its 400th win when the team became the District 6 champions.

The last time Forest Hills took home the District 6 title was in 2010.
