CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Anthony Boone has been taken into custody, according to the Clearfield County District Attorney.

Boone was taken into custody in Pike Township. According to police, Boone shot himself in the upper chest with a rifle as police were approaching him.

He was taken to Clearfield Hospital, then the Altoona hospital for his injuries. He is currently in stable condition.

Police said that they must wait until Boone is out of the hospital to be arraigned.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Rebecca Solt of Clearfield. The manner of death has been ruled as gunshots to the chest.

According to Lawrence Township Police Chief Douglas Clark, Boone and Solt had a child together.

Clark said that police are still searching for Boone’s car, where his dog remains inside.

Police are searching for a suspect at large in a homicide investigation in Clearfield County.

Lawrence Township Police are currently searching for Anthony Boone, 36, who is a suspect in the homicide investigation.

Boone is a white male that is 6’2″ and was last seen wearing a black muscle t-shirt, blue jeans and a black hat.

Boone is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to police. If you see Boone, police say you should not approach him and immediately call 911.

A woman was murdered outside in the backyard of a home on Legion Road in Hyde, Logan Township. She was a gunshot victim.

Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers said that the home where the incident occurred is where the victim was staying.

Neighbors and witnesses heard a conversation or dispute between the victim and Boone. According to witnesses, Boone parked his car on Highview Road, the street behind the home on Legion Road and shot the victim while she was on a swing.

Witnesses also saw Boone leaving the scene with a dog, according to Sayers.

According to Sayers, Clearfield 911 dispatched police and ambulance crews around 3:15-3:30 p.m.
