According to “Variety,” Robert Pattinson is close to sealing a deal to star in the forthcoming film “The Batman.”
He’s best known as portraying Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” movie series.
Some fans are already up in arms, and have even started a petition to cast someone else.
Other fans urged film-goers to give Pattinson a chance and pointed out Heath Ledger’s casting as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” was equally controversial.
“The Batman” is scheduled to hit theaters in June of 2021.
