The State College Borough is launching an initiative to clear out the gossip.

The Rumor Mill is a new online tool intended to boost community engagement.

It’s a platform for residents to pose questions about anything they’ve heard happening in the area.

Each question will be answered directly by borough staff to keep folks informed.

Douglas Shontz, State College Borough Communications Specialist, said it’s a tool that should help bridge any gap between the Borough and residents.

“There’s a lot of things happening in State College right now and there’s a lot of discussions within neighborhoods, among students up on campus, and this is just a way to help get the facts out there,” Shontz said. “If you’re unsure about something, you’re able to reach out the Borough staff directly and keep track of that.”
