A Blair County man is behind bars after police say he robbed a FeFi’s convenience store in Altoona at gunpoint.

The robbery happened on December 15, 2016 on 2nd Avenue in Altoona.

Officials say the suspect, Dayshon McQueen, from Altoona, walked behind the counter, grabbed the cashier by her hair and forced her to the floor at gunpoint.

McQueen then demanded money from the safe. When the employee was unable to open the safe, he stole about $200 from the cash register and multiple packs of cigarettes from the shelves.

He then fled the scene, dropping a plastic bad and a pair of blue gloves.

Police ran the DNA found on the gloves through their system and found McQueen was a match. He was taken into custody on Tuesday.

McQueen has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, theft, and receiving stolen property. He is currently in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $50,000.00 straight cash bail.
