If you have a criminal background and need help applying to jobs, there’s a workshop series happening in Cambria County to help you get back on your feet.
Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies partnered with PA CareerLink and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College to host the 3-part workshop series.
They’ll help individuals with criminal histories build a resume, teach interview techniques, learn how to rebuild trusting relationships with employers or enter the workforce for the first time.
“Employers are seeking hard-working, accountable and dependable people to work at their companies,” said Amy Horwath, the vice president of mission services for Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies
The next workshops are:
Friday, May 18 – 2:00–3:15 PM: Résumé Writing
Thursday, May 24 – 2:00–3:15 PM: Job Interview Techniques
They will be held at the Goodwill Career Center located at 540 Central Avenue in the Moxham section of Johnstown. No registration is required and it’s free. Attendees are asked to bring a copy of their education and work history if applicable and to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of each workshop.
