Police are investigating after three Blair County apartments were destroyed in a fire Monday.

Flames first broke out at an upstairs apartment in the building along the 3,600 block of Main Street in Roaring Spring.

Three apartments were destroyed by fire, smoke, and water damage, but the fire chief told us he’s glad this situation wasn’t a lot worse.

“It was actually a pretty light fire considering the quantity of apartments that were in there so it could have been a lot worse than what it was,” said Roaring Spring Fire Chief, Keith Pote.

There’s no word yet on how that fire got started.

At this time the state fire marshall is still investigating.
