A candlelight vigil in Johnstown will honor those who died from a drug overdose.
The event is held in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day on Friday, August 31.
The goal is to open up a conversation and reduce the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths.
“It’s going to just be a very powerful evening. Hopefully, that’s what they get out of it: is happiness, that feeling that I’m not alone,” said Tess Bradley, the Drug & Alcohol Educator at Conemaugh Hospital. This year, Bradley celebrates being ten years sober.
The event will take place at Sandyvale Healing Garden in Johnstown on Friday, August 31 from 7-9 p.m. Anyone who’d like to attend should bring a photo of their loved one and a chair.
