An Eagle View Elementary School teacher has been awarded the Milken Educator Award.

Third-grade teacher, Katherine Bobby was presented the award, hailed by Teachermagazine as the “Oscars of Teaching”, Wednesday.

Those who know Bobby said she concentrates on engaging her students and building strong connections with family. She has also organized many school events and is known as an innovative leader who inspires her students and staff to reach for the stars.

The Milken Award is part of an initiative aiming to reward great teachers and to celebrate, elevate and activate innovators in the classroom who are guiding America’s next generation of leaders. It comes with an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize.

Bobby is one of only 40 teachers nationwide, and the only one in Pennsylvania to be selected for the honor this year.
