The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign kicks off Tuesday.
You’ll soon see the iconic red kettles and bell ringers collecting donation through our area. The Salvation Army says their goal is to raise $110,000 this year. All of the money collected will stay in the area and go to people in need in the community.
“it’s an opportunity for us to give hope to our community,” Lt. Larry Fulmer, Pastor for the Salvation Army of Altoona said. “we see people coming in and out of our building everyday that are hurting, broken, confused and feeling like they don’t have any hope.
“We’re able to give them a light – even if it’s a small necessity – it goes a long way and for us it’s a beautiful thing so it’s worth it.”
The Red Kettle Campaign runs through December 24.
