Bottle Works is celebrating National Shop Local Artists Week.

This week, Bottle Works will be part of a nationwide initiative, Shop Local Artists Week, to support the artists in our community. Everyone is invited to their Artsy Shopping Happy Hour from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 4 through Friday, December 7.

Beverages and snacks will be provided for shoppers as they have the opportunity to talk with Gallery Shoppe, Studio and Merry Mart artists throughout the week. The Bottle Works’ Gallery Shoppe is open all year and supports more than 50 artists.

In addition to the Shoppe and Market, there will also be two art exhibits on display, and shopper can buy most of what will be displayed. The Eye of the Needle, a regional art quilt show, will be in the Art Works’ building main galleries, and the Small Works, Large Space, a juried exhibition of miniatures, will be in the Art Works’ Events Center.

“Year-round and especially this holiday season, we ask that you support our community’s artists by participating in National Shop Local Artists Week events at the Bottle Works Dec. 4 – 7,” said Bottle Works’ Executive Director Laura Argenbright.  “I encourage my fellow Johnstown and Cambria County residents to shop locally by purchasing the work of local artists and that all forms of art-including tickets to events and organization memberships-make great holiday gifts. I believe that the arts are integral to the lives of all people and essential to healthy, vibrant, and equitable communities, like Johnstown, across the nation.”

The following artists will be displayed: Brandon Hirt, Alan Rauch, Kendra Pearl, Cecilia Rusnak, Judith Crookston, Beth Wheeler, Tiffany Joy Sakmar, Tracy Bradford, Sandy Vigna, Richard Hower, Kathleen Case Burk, Tim Roth, John Mullennix, Steven Stern, Dan Helsel, Eden Within, Jaime Fieser Helbig, Scott Steberger, Carmen Kolodzey, Mayuko Ogawa, Joanne Mekis and Francesca Bardi.
