A company in Blair County was recognized as one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania.

From executive management to workers on the floor, the President of Value Drug Company said everyone was thrilled with the announcement.

The organization ranked 24 out of 100 best places to work in the state.

“You know, it was a really pleasant surprise, kind of came out of no where,” said Greg Drew, President of Value Drug Company.

Drew said his employees are like family and all of them work together to keep operations running.

“I’m just really happy and thrilled for the folks we have here because it isn’t about management or the board. This is about everyone pulling together and making it a great place. If tey didn’t want to do this and tey didn’t help us to create this culture, it just wouldn’t happen,” Drew said.

The Central Penn Business Journal ranked and published the 100 Best Places to Work in PA for 2018. Researchers looked at the company’s policies, practices, and demographics, along with an employee survey.

“Robin Wallis, our HR Director who worked hard on this project, got folks to fill out the surveys and go through the drill, but you kind of forget about it after a while. And then, when the results came back and she said, ‘Hey, look. We won,’ we were all really pleased,” Drew said.

Drew said the key to his company’s success is their focus on customer and employee satisfaction. He said his company tries to go above and beyond just a paycheck to make sure employees are happy and healthy.
