The Sears in Altoona at the Logan Valley Mall is closing.
Sears Holdings announced the closure of more than 80 stores nationwide, including the one in Altoona. The Altoona Sears Auto Center is closing in late January.
The company released a statement saying they were downsizing in order to accelerate their strategic transformation and ease its financial restructuring.
The stores are expected to close in late March of 2019.
The Sears company needs a buyer by the end of today to survive.
