The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – or SNAP – is now accepted at a local market.
The program allows SNAP customers to get fresh local fruits, vegetables and poultry at the Boalsburg Farmers’ Market.
The new program goes into affect today.
In a news release, officials say it’s a an all around win for the farmers’ market, as well as consumers and farmers.
This is the first farmers’ market in Centre County to accept SNAP benefits.
