STATE COLLEGE – It looks like the Nittany Lions will be getting about $4.5 million in unexpected bowl revenue. This comes after the Big Ten voted Sunday to reinstate the university’s share of the revenue.
Penn State defeated Boston College back on December 27 in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.
Penn State had been on a four year ban. During those years, the Nittany Lions’ share had been split among the other schools in the conference where it was used to help local child and sexual abuse organizations.
University president, Eric Barron said he was obviously very happy with the decision, adding the money is used to support student-athletes and the programs and that because of the ban, things have been delayed.
