STATE COLLEGE – Former Nittany Lion D.J. Newbill is headed for Hollywood.
Newbill will play for the Los Angeles Clippers on their Summer League team.
A second-team All-Big Ten selection in 2015, Newbill averaged 20.7 points per game in his senior season, but went unselected in the NBA Draft.
This is the second straight year a former Nittany Lion will play in the NBA’s Summer League.
Tim Frazier played for the Philadelphia 76ers summer squad in 2014 before going on to earn D-League MVP and Rookie of the Year honors and finishing the 2014-15 season with the Portland Trailblazers.
