HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today that prime contractor Cottles Asphalt Maintenance, of Everett, will begin work on the replacement of the Route 1005 (Churchview Road) bridge over Beaver Creek in South Woodbury Township, Bedford County. 

The work is set to begin on Monday, June 10. 

The contractor will begin work to prepare for the bridge replacement; this will be done with minimal impacts. 

Motorists are urged to be aware and use caution in the area. 

On Monday, June 24, the contractor will implement a 9.5-mile detour that will follow Route 1005 (Churchview Road), Route 1026 (Salemville Road), Route 1015 (Hersheberger Road/Chestnut Street/Church Street), Route 869 (Brumbaugh Road), and Route 36 (Woodbury Pike), the detour will be in effect until August 13. 

Work on this project consists of replacing the existing structure with a cast in place box culvert. 

All work on this project is expected to be completed by late-August 2019.
