A woman who helped found a local organization to fight pancreatic cancer will be among the advocates  at the first World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition on Wednesday in Orlando.

Cathy Griffith will give a presentation on Sideline Cancer, sporting events established by the Griffith Family Foundation to raise money and awareness to battle pancreatic cancer.

Forty pancreatic cancer advocacy groups from around the globe are expected to attend the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition Meeting.

“We realized that by working collaboratively, we could have a much greater impact than the sum of our parts,” Cathy says.

The Griffith Family Foundation has raised $200,000 for pancreatic cancer research since 2010.
