Police continue to investigate death of an infant.

Altoona Police Sergeant Benjamin Jones says when they arrived at the home along 14th Avenue and 9th Street Monday afternoon, the three month old baby girl was unresponsive.

Emergency responders started CPR and did what they could to save her life, but they were unsuccessful.

Police say the child was fed and put down for a nap shortly before 10 a.m.

When the mother and father checked on the baby, they noticed she wasn’t breathing and called 9-1-1.

An autopsy is being performed to help determine the cause of death.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
