Altoona Police are looking for someone, who they say was possibly impersonating a police officer.

 

The alleged incident happened just after 1 a.m. Tuesday, on the 400 block of Valley View Boulevard. 

 

A female told officers that she was pulled over by a dark blue Dodge Charger that had red, blue and white lights on the dashboard. 

 

The suspect apparently approached the car but then left after seeing the female was on her cell phone. 

 

Police are now searching for that car and the suspect.

 

Police also want to remind you that in the instance that you are pulled over, just to be safe, it is ok to call 9-1-1 and let them know what is going on, they’ll be able to tell you if the stop is legitimate. Also, never speed away from the scene and pull over is a safe area.
