WTAJ kicked off our On The Road Tour of Centre County with a look inside the Cool Beans coffee shop in Bellefonte.

The doors normally open at 7:00 a.m. but owner Sherry Nelson opened the doors early for us and invited K.C. Kantz in for a cup of coffee.

Many of the baked goods in the kitchen are made from scratch including the blueberry oatmeal bars that have a special, secret recipe.  Sherry, would not share that recipe.

Cool Beans is located just down the road from the Centre County Courthouse and resides in the oldest building in downtown Bellefonte.  In fact, years ago prisoners were held in that same building.

The coffee shop also is a great place to hold business meetings.  There is a room that can hold up to 40 people and Cool Beans is currently looking for a group working to reserve that space for Monday evenings.

Coming up on WTAJ News at Noon, K.C. Kantz will catch up with the Bellefonte High School baseball team which recently brought home the PIAA Championship.  And on WTAJ News at 5pm, John Clay and Carolyn Donaldson will take you for a tour of the Penn State Arboretum.

Throughout the week, WTAJ-TV will introduce you to unique people, places, and events that make the Centre County region a special place to live and visit.
