The democratic party says they are looking to fill some big shoes.

“He looked after us.  He was active,” Cambria County Democratic Chairman Frank Fantauzzo says.

Fantauzzo adds that Senator Wozniak is always there for the community.  He says he was surprised to hear the news about Wozniak withdrawing from the state senate race, but says he understands.

“You know he wants to spend time with his family and I don’t blame him.  He has a hard job.  It’s not easy being an elected official.”

In a Facebook statement the senator said, “It has been my honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Cambria, Bedford, and Clearfield counties.  I have championed their needs, wants, and hopes for 36 years in public life.”

“He brought money here to the area.  He worked with CamTran and now he’s working with the prison up there to get that done,” Fantauzzo says.

Wozniak credits his success to cooperation, saying, “Without the commitment of organized labor, small business, nonprofits, and the wonderful citizens of this region working together, we would not have achieved success.”

He goes on to say that even though in a few short months his role will be changing, he will still be active in the community.
