The DuBois City Council awarded money for new sidewalks last night.
They accepted a bid of $577,000 from Hallstrom Construction for this year’s Streetscape work that’s set to start on Monday.
It will go from the pedestrian bridge leading to City Park around Franklin St. and up to St. Michael Terrace on W. Long Avenue, city engineer Chris Nasuti said.
It’s being funded through a mixture of city and state funds and new streetlights will also be added on W. Long, Nasuti said.
New fire hydrants will go in at the same time, city manager John “Herm” Suplizio said at Monday’s meeting.
