A new church fellowship group will meet at the DuBois Mall.
The organizer of Fellowship In The Mall says he considered warehouses, and then found a space in the mall that used to be storage for Sears.
He says it’s a central location to meet with friends from Big Run and Reynoldsville, and they’re renting it on a month-to-month basis with an agreement to use it two days a week.
“A lot of people won’t go to a regular church because of whatever reason. They make not like the pastor. They may not like going to a church building. So, we’re trying to make it non-threatening so they can come in and it’s really not going to be a service where you have a sermon,” says organizer Mark Wright.
Wright says they plan to read over a topic for 10 minutes and then discuss it. The first meeting is on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and it’s open to anyone, including mall shoppers, to stop in.
