Cambria County residents were reminded Thursday night that Pennsylvania is a key state in this election.

“So Pennsylvania I’ve got a favor to ask,” Governor and Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence said to a Johnstown crowd.

Thursday night the republican nominee backed his running partner, Donald Trump’s, agenda, character, and comments.  It is something Pence was criticized for not doing at the VP debate.

“This election is about really big issues.  It’s about security.  It’s about prosperity.  It’s about the Supreme Court of the United States of America.  It’s about having the highest level of integrity in the highest office in the land,” Pence said during his speech.

The candidate also took the opportunity to take shots at Hillary Clinton’s previous comments.

“Your running mate said that half of Donald Trump’s supporters across this country were basket of deplorables.”

Residents, like David Black, were most interested in what Pence and Trump can do for Johnstown, “I think it’s important that we get some jobs back in this area.  There’s too many empty houses and empty factories.”

Black said his vote goes beyond looking at the economy.  He’s also concerned about the second amendment and trust, “If you can’t believe what your president says, then you can’t vote for that person.”

In the end for the voters that attended the rally, it’s about moving cities like Johnstown forward.
