Senator Pat Toomey made one last campaign blitz across Pennsylvania on Monday in an effort to secure last minute votes. This race has gained national attention because it could shift the balance of power in the Senate.

Recent polls have shown a small lead for Democrat Katie McGinty, but the Toomey campaign says their numbers show the race as a dead heat.

Toomey has made a lot of visits to Central Pennsylvania during his campaign and one of his last stops was in Johnstown. Speaking to supporters at the Cambria County Airport he blamed the Obama Administration for the stagnant economy. He said McGinty only promises more of the same.

Their wages are stagnant, health care costs rising, their standard living is not improving and they wonder and they worry whether their kids will have a better life than what they had,” said Toomey. “This has never happened before in America so why now. On the left Katie McGinty and company will say oh it’s the new normal get used to it. Learn to deal with it. They are completely wrong. There is nothing normal about a weak American economy.”

Sen. Toomey needs to win over some democrats in order to win this election. Even though he agrees very little with President Obama, Toomey has recently run a campaign ad that features Obama and democrats praising his bill on background checks for gun purchases.
