The DuBois Area School District held a meeting to explain the READY program.

Senator Joe Scarnati’s office says the $200,000 grant comes from the state Department of Education.

The pilot program will include a new business and governmental advisory board.

It’s designed to get students involved in exploring jobs in the area, and is set to include field trips to area companies and “video field trips,” Scarnati’s office said.

The district will also work with a curriculum consultant. A meeting was set for 5 p.m. to discuss the new program.
