Penn State has suspended two players for the Rose Bowl game for violations of team rules.
Wide Receiver Saeed Blacknall and Linebacker Manny Bowen will not suit up for the Nittany Lions against USC on Monday.
The program has not released any other information about the suspensions.
The loss of Blacknall is a blow to the offense, especially after the Junior receiver had more than 100 yards and two touchdowns in the Big Ten Championship.
On defense, players like Brandon Smith could see more time in place of Bowen.
The Penn State football team is  no strangers to missing big time players in big time games.
In the 1998 Citrus Bowl, Running Back Curtis Enis and Wide Receiver Joe Jurevicious were suspended prior to the Lions meeting with the Gators.
