The Centre County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving several calls a day, from individuals who are being scammed. 
 
The victims of these calls say that the call originates from unknown phone numbers, and the scammers are representing themselves as the Centre County Sheriff’s Office. The individual commonly introduces himself as Lieutenant Frank Rogers. The scammers are telling victims that there is a warrant for their arrest for failing to appear for jury selection. Mostly, the phone scammers are requesting cash, moneypak, and iTunes gift cards as payment to avoid being arrested for failure to appear. In some phone scam cases, the scammers are also sending victims to magisterial district court office’s. 
 
They may inquire about personal information and ask for bank account numbers, as well.
 
If you are receiving these calls, please do not give them any personal information, bank account numbers, money orders or purchase any kind of money cards. The Centre County Sheriff’s Office will not contact you asking for personal or bank account information. If you are unsure just contact their office at 814-355-6803.
