The Meadows Original Frozen Custard has opened its first international franchise in Canberra, ACT, Australia.
A personal fan of real smooth, creamy frozen custard, franchisee Suresh Pandy of Jerrabomberra, NSW, Australia wanted to introduce The Meadows 67-year tradition to Australia. Like all Meadows locations, The Canberra franchise is serving The Meadows famous family recipe for frozen custard. As in the United States, customers can pick from cones, cups, sundaes, Arctic Swirls, Banana Splits, Orange Fluffs and Black Cows. The Meadows of Canberra is located in the Franklin neighborhood of Canberra, a densely populated, newly developed section of Canberra, which is the country’s capital.
Steven Gardner, President and CEO of The Meadows Franchise Systems, Inc., was on-hand for the opening and spent two weeks training the new franchisee and employees. “We were overwhelmed with positive comments and a warm reception to the brand’s first international location,” said Gardner. “Long lines of customers were handled with ease by the very capable new operators, we couldn’t be happier to have a presence in Canberra.”
The Meadows Original Frozen Custard was founded in Duncansville, Pa in 1950 by The Meadows family. The chain now includes nearly 30 franchises in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Australia.
