The ninth annual Gob Festival is happening this weekend at the Johnstown Galleria.
Vendors will be providing their best recipes to compete in a friendly competition.
Forever Media will be hosting the event.
In 2016, over 5,000 gobs were sold. Forever Media calls gobs the unofficial dessert of Western Pennsylvania.
“What are you going to be doing on a Saturday in the middle of January when it’s too cold to do anything outside,” Jack Michaels, program director of 96 Key, said. “People come inside and see some friends and mingle and talk and bring the kids, we bring the station mascot. It’s just a fun afternoon for the whole family.”
The event lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
